How to Start a Private Label Janitorial Chemical Line (2026 Guide)

Janitorial chemicals are one of the most overlooked private label opportunities in the country. Every facility, school, gym, restaurant and office in America buys degreaser, all-purpose cleaner and mop solution every single month — and almost all of it is somebody's private label. Here's exactly how to launch your own janitorial line, from someone who blends it every day.

Step 1: Pick your core products

You don't need 40 SKUs to launch. The workhorses that move in every janitorial account are a heavy-duty degreaser, an all-purpose cleaner, a glass cleaner, a neutral mop solution, and for anyone touching kitchens: oven & grill cleaner and dish soap. Add laundry detergent and fabric softener if you serve laundromats, gyms or hospitality. That's the core of our janitorial, restaurant & home line — and you can see every price on one page in our price list & catalog.

Step 2: Pick your sizes

Janitorial buyers purchase in four formats: 32 oz ready-to-use bottles (what the cleaning crew actually holds), 1 gallon jugs, 5 gallon pails for dilution stations, and 55 gallon drums for route operators and bigger accounts. Most new brands start with gallons and 32 oz bottles, then add pails as accounts grow.

Step 3: Do the margin math

This is why janitorial private label works: at case pricing, most of our gallons run $8 to $10 — and the branded equivalents they replace sell for $15 to $17 a gallon at retail. That spread is your margin as a reseller, distributor or janitorial house. You're not competing on a race-to-the-bottom Amazon listing; you're selling your own brand into accounts that reorder monthly.

Step 4: Get your labels done

You don't need a design agency. Send us your logo and our in-house graphic designers build your labels; we print them, apply them and ship finished, retail-ready product. If you don't have a brand yet, we can help you create one from scratch.

Step 5: Start small, then scale

Minimums are listed right on every product page — 32 oz products come by the case and gallons have low bottle minimums, so you can put real product in front of real customers before committing to pallets. Want to feel the quality first? 16 oz samples are $10.

The timeline

From artwork approval, most janitorial private label orders ship in about 2 weeks from our 50,000 sq ft facility in Anaheim, California — 10 blending lines, 4 automated bottling lines and a full-time chemist on staff. We've been doing this since 1997.
